Yves Cuilleron Les Vignes d’a Cote Syrah
Cave Cuilleron is a three-generation family estate, which Yves has run since taking over from uncle Antoine in 1987. Having started with vines just in Condrieu and Saint-Joseph, he now has vineyards scattered across the various Northern Rhone appellations. His philosphy is simple – grow the best possible grapes.
Grapes for the Les Vignes d’a Cote Syrah are sourced from the wider Collines Rhodaniennes area encompassing the Northern Rhone., from vines grown on a mix of granite and alluvial soils. The winemaking is very traditional, with fermentation taking place in a mix of small and large old oak barrels.
This is a particularly gentle, fragrant style of Syrah, leading with fresh raspberry and boysenberry fruit, dried herbs, and delicate savoury spice.
Pairs well with charcuterie, fresh tomatoes and Mediterranean vegetables, and lighter cuts of grilled meats.
