Quinta Da Pedra Milagres Alvarinho
- Quinta da Pedra Milagres Alvarinho has a bright, vibrant yellow colour, and its pronounced aromas reveal layers of fresh stone fruit, preserved fruit, delicate yellow flowers, and mineral notes of wet stone
- The palate is medium to full-bodied, offering ripe fruit balanced by a refreshing acidity that cuts through with clarity, while the silky texture and impressively long finish make it exceptionally enticing
The winemaking process begins with a light pre-fermentation maceration, followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation starts in stainless steel under temperature control. Finishing in very old French oak barrels (over 10 years old), adding subtle depth without overt oakiness.
For the first six months, the wine undergoes batonnage, stirring the lees to enhance its mouthfeel and complexity. Malolactic fermentation may naturally occur in some barrels, adding a roundness to the profile. Transferring after 12 months in barrels to stainless steel. Then fined, filtered, and bottled. Ageing in bottle for at least 2-3 years before release.
Situated in the heart of Moncao and Melgaco, in the Vinho Verde region’s subregion where Alvarinho thrives. Quinta da Pedra has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Its 53 hectares of vineyards are dry-farmed and rooted in pure granite soils. High-density planting encourages deep root growth and natural concentration. The Atlantic-influenced climate, combined with granite-rich, well-draining soils, contributes to the unique terroir of this region.
This wine is enjoyable now but will continue to evolve beautifully for up to 10 years from the harvest date, showcasing increasing layers of complexity and depth over time.
