Mira Do O Druida Encruzado Reserva

Nuno Mira do O Druida is one of the foremost viticulturalists and , making wines from the historic Dao region. Like the Celtic Druids, Nuno seeks spiritual equilibrium between man and nature when making his legendary Druida wines.

The grapes are grown at an altitude of 500 metres on granite rich soils and subject to large temperature shifts.

Druida Encruzado Reserva was the debut  by Mira do O, first released just 10 years ago. The wine is fermented in French oak, of which just 20% is new, using only wild yeasts. No malolactic is used and the wine spends 10 months maturing on the lees in barrel after fermentation.

This  has a remarkably elegant and complex nose in which mineral and flinty notes dominate over hints of citrus fruits, flowers and thyme. There is great freshness, elegance, and texture on the palate too, with a long finish.
