Librandi Ciro Rosso
Back in the 1950s, Raffaele Librandi and his two sons Antonio and Nicodemo began investing in modern winemaking equipment for their family vineyards. Well ahead of the trend for Calabria, one of the least developed regions in Italy.
They have not been afraid to seek consultation from international experts, but have never compromised on what makes their wines distinctively Calabrian. Today, they are widely regarded as the benchmark for the region.
- Librandi Ciro Rosso is from indigenous gaglioppo grapes, fermented in stainless steel. This undiscovered gem of a grape variety produces medium to full bodied wines with high tannin and good acidity
- Expect red fruit flavours like raspberry and redcurrant, alongside distinct notes of leather and tobacco
A very approachable expression of this grape variety. Well-rounded tannins, bright red cherry fruit, and notes of Mediterranean herbs on the fresh, lifted finish.
A to pair with salami, a Bolognese sauce, or a spicy pizza.
