Laphroaig Elements 1.0 Whisky

The inaugural bottling of a new experimental which explores the different elements within the Laphroaig production process which makes the Hallmark Laphraoig characteristics we all know and love.

The distillery team were given complete autonomy to play on these elements and develop with a twist. Laphroaig Elements 1.0 uses two mash tuns; one singular of 8.5 tons and two 5.5 tons of mash.

Usually, Laphroaig uses semi cloudy wort to produce their characteristic smoky, fruit flavour. For Elements 1.0 they use a 50/50 blend of cloudy and semi-cloudy wort to produce a unique expression. Bottling is at a cask strength of 58.6%.

• On the nose tropical notes greet you with an underlying layer of salinity
• The palate opens with more tropical fruits, such as pineapple and a good amount of spice and liquorice
• The finish is – as you’d expect – smoky with a slightly sweet undertone
