Glenfarclas 105 Whisky is named after its alcohol content, which is 60% ABV and is a cask-strength whisky, meaning it is bottled directly from the cask without dilution, providing a robust and intense flavour profile.
Rumour has it that Glenfarclas 105 was left at cask strength by accident and the Grant family decided to give the Whisky to their staff as an extra Christmas present. The response was so good that they decided to make it a dram in their core range and since its release has been one of the best selling Glenfarclas whiskies Worldwide.
Every so often Glenfarclas release an aged statement of this exceptional whisky which becomes a Whisky must for collectors everywhere. Glenfarclas 105 16-Year-Old Whisky is no exception. Aged for 16 years in sherry casks which have been sourced from the same bodega for centuries. The result is a single malt scotch whisky which is full-bodied and complex, bursting with flavour.
On the nose you’re hit with bold spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Followed by subtle hints of vanilla and butterscotch. Upon first sip you’re hit with all the Hallmark notes you’d expect from Glenfarclas with an extra boost. Expect stewed fruits, Christmas cake and more butterscotch. There is a hint of almond and more sherried spice. The finish is incredibly long with hints of dark chocolate and more Glenfarclas sherry notes.
Glenfarclas 105 16-Year-Old Whisky has been released in extremely limited quantities with only 5280 bottles being released Worldwide.
