Gaja Ca’Marcanda Magari

Magari means if only it were true!. An Italian expression used to express desire, hope and a vision for a bright future. Ca’Marcanda Magari is a classic Bolgheri blend of – cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot – sourced from a mix of terre brune and terre blonde soils.

The different grape varieties are vinified separately, with 12 months ageing in oak, prior to blending. The wine rests for several months in bottles to allow the blend to harmonise before release.

Gaja Ca’Marcanda Magari is a particularly expressive example of Bolgheri red wine.

• Aromatic notes of eucalyptus, pepper, pine and dried Mediterranean herbs
• On the palate, the wine has a core of rich black cherry and blackberry fruit, layered with liquorice and spice.
• Fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity give poise to this full-bodied Italian red and excellent potential for ageing
• Pairs well with grilled and roasted red meats, rich stews and mature cheeses
