Dorper Pinotage
A refreshing interpretation of South Africa’s local grape, Pinotage, focusing on elegance and complexity.
- Tasting Notes: Aromas of red currant and cherry lead to a brooding savouriness, balanced by subtle sweet spice notes, with a lingering finish and plenty of red fruit freshness on the palate.
- Collaborative Project: Crafted by winemaker Reg Holder and viticulturist Etienne Terblanche, exploring the untapped potential of Pinotage in Stellenbosch.
- Vineyard Sourcing: Fruit sourced from old vine parcels on granite soils of Simonsberg and Helderberg mountains, picked at various ripeness levels to capture freshness and flavour.
- Winemaking Process: Pinotage grapes naturally fermented in open top fermenters, with regular punch downs, followed by 12 months ageing in old casks of various sizes.
- Bottle Ageing: Further aged in bottle for 9 months prior to release, enhancing its complexity and character.
Experience the elegance and sophistication of Dorper Pinotage, a wine that embodies the unique terroir and dedication of its creators.
