An extraordinary marriage of cask types producing a truly exceptional Highland single malt. The Dalmore 40-Year-Old whisky was initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before being moved into 30-year-old Gonzalaz Byass Oloroso sherry casks. Dalmore 40-year-old spends the last part of its maturation journey in casks that previously held Graham’s 1970-Year-Old Colheita port.
Aromas of ripe cherries, stones fruits and subtle toffee leading into a punchy palate of oranges and tasted nuts. The finish displays more stone fruits with notes of caramel and dark chocolate. The Dalmore 40-year-old 2023 release has been beautifully displayed in a Baccarat Crystal decanter. Only 45 bottles have been released into the UK market.
