Chateau d’Esclans Garrus Rose Wine
Producer Caves d’Esclans is the brightest new star of the Côtes de Provence. Established in 2006 when Bordeaux-born Sacha Lichine bought the Château d’Esclans, this dynamic producer harnesses both the château grown grapes and fruit from local growers to create a stunning range of highly sought-after wines.
Patrick Léon, the former winemaker at Mouton Rothschild, oversees production. The top of the range among Sacha Lichines rosés, Garrus offers a uniquely vinous, savoury style.
Toasty and floral aromas precede a powerful, though never heavy, palate. Despite the mouth-filling texture, the retains remarkable focus and structure. The grapes for this are selected from old vines that grow from parcels of superior quality.
Consistently highly rated by critics and named `the best rose in the world` by Jancis Robinson MW, this wine does not fail to impress. The palate is full bodied and complex with cream, butter, cherries, ripe plums and orange zest. The structure of the palate is complemented by a fresh acidity which gives a lovely texture and a long, ripe finish.
