This Champagne won our hearts at the very first sip; it is so vibrant and engaging with its incredible array of flavours that you just want more and more!
The winery has been on an incredible journey over the last decade and has fast become one of the most admired and sought-after wines from the whole of Champagne. It is very special in its delivery of crisp apple, citrus and chalky notes that lead to an array of cashew, brioche and white fruits on the palate. It is so much more than almost any other Brut Non Vintage will give.
The winery was set up in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck whose goal was simple: to make the best Champagnes possible. The family-owned house is the smallest of the Grandes Marques, producing an eye-wateringly small volume of bottles each year. However, this size, dedication and quality has led them to ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’ at the International Wine Challenge 16 times. Based in the city of Reims, Charles Heidsieck is one of the few houses that are able to use the fabulous chalk “crayères” cellars under the city, a perfect setting for the ageing of Champagne.
Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve ages in its own chalk cellars for 36-48 months before disgorging; much longer than the legal requirement of 15 months. The fruit is sourced from 60 specific sites across the heart of the region.
If you think all champagne is the same, it isn’t: try this.
