The Balvenie Doublewood 12 year old gains its distinctive character from maturing in two wood types. It spends at least 12 years in traditional casks. American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, before being moved to Spanish oak ex-oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months.
