Croft Vintage Port 2016

Croft Vintage Port 2016 is a high quality wine from the  in Portugal’s Douro Valley. This  is from a blend of traditional grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Roriz, which are carefully selected from the best vineyards in the Douro Valley.

• Characterised by its intensely purple colour
• A nose of ripe strawberries and blackcurrants
• Notes of rock rose and eucalyptus as well as hints of spice, chocolate, and cedar
• The palate shows a surge of rich berry fruits and has close-knit tannins

Decant for several hours to allow the wine to open up and reveal its full range of flavours and aromas. Enjoy on its own as a  or pair with strong cheeses, dark chocolate, or rich, decadent desserts.

This year began with a very wet spring which was welcome after the dry conditions of 2015 – which meant that the ripening season started late and on around the 11th of July, there was an onset of very hot and dry weather which continued until mid-September. The picking at Quinta da Roeda began on the 17th of September.
