Blandy’s Verdelho 10 Year Old Madeira
Fermentation of the verdelho grapes off the skins takes about four days. And therefore the is sweeter than the sercial. With an average age of about 10 years in cask the wine becomes very concentrated and develops spicy and dried fruit characters, with warm marmalade flavours.
- The non-vintage Blandy’s verdelho 10 year old madeira has a delightful, resinous bouquet with touches of mahogany bureau and hazelnut
- The palate is crisp and taut on the entry, with vibrant acidity
- Demonstrates more depth and chutzpah than its counterpart sercial
- The finish has a subtle smoky note lingering after the wine has departed
The Blandy family is distinguished by being the only founding family to still own and run their own original company. Throughout its long history on the island, the family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira Wine.
